COMPANY
A company founded in 1964 in the city of Arequipa, Peru, it began its operations producing and supplying steel bars for the machine and construction industries. Known for the high quality of its products, it soon became this segment’s main supplier. It’s the current leader in the steel industry and a key corporation for the Peruvian government, producing more than a million tons of steel annually.
CHALLENGE
They needed an ABC costing system distinct from that used by accounting which would make it possible to obtain detailed information quickly. They wanted the ABC methodology and thus they needed a system that would administrate this type of cost model.
SOLUTION
MyABCM was selected due to its flexibility, the clarity with which its resource and activity structures, its ability to analyze information, its cost tracing, the integrated OLAP tool and its graphics.
RESULTS
The ABC costing software is helping to obtain costing information and compare it with the costs assigned from other departments, as well as identifying cost reduction opportunities. Monthly deviations from budgeted costs are also analyzed per cost center.
